We hear dieticians & nutritionists talk about the importance of essential fatty acids in our body. But do we really stop to question them about why it might be so important? Omega 3 & 6 do not naturally occur in the body, so we depend on external sources. Here’s a rundown on why it’s needed, not wanted by us.

Omega 3 & Why

Please bear the technical jargon coming through, but you need to read this. Omega 3 is an unsaturated fat. If you know anything about fats, you will know that unsaturated fats are good fats & essential to the temple that you call, body. Omega 3 is known to improve heart health & promote the growth & maintenance of healthy bones among many other benefits.

Omega 6 & Why

Just like Omega 3, Omega 6 is an unsaturated fat. The functions of Omega 6 are to primarily provide energy. While monitoring is essential, making sure you take the right amount is just as important.
